advocating for bicyclists and pedestrians.
We concentrate in personal injury cases for these groups and have years of experience litigating and advocating for these "vulnerable users."
The Illinois Vehicle Code was not designed with cyclists or pedestrians as its focus. Accordingly, bicyclists and pedestrians are often overlooked when it comes to their rights to the road. Most road infrastructure in Illinois was designed with automobile traffic in mind, and the needs of cyclists and pedestrians are sometimes neglected. Many people who aren't experienced urban pedestrians or cyclists don't understand what vulnerable users go through every day just to get around.
Crashes involving cyclists and pedestrians are seldom cut and dried. That's one of the reasons we practice this type of law. Vulnerable users in Chicago need someone advocating on their behalf who appreciates the reality of alternative transportation in this city. We understand that accidents do not always happen under clearly definable circumstances, and we understand that people involved with, investigating or witnessing accidents often times allow stereotypes to bias their perceptions or actions.
We offer a unique perspective because of our experience. Bicyclists and pedestrians are as diverse as a population can be. We have first-hand experience with the prejudices and biases that confront Chicago cyclists and pedestrians. We understand the dangers vulnerable users face every time they take to the road because we are a firm staffed by experienced utilitarian cyclists, urban pedestrians and bike racers. We have been the victims of stereotyping, inattention, road rage, and violence simply because of our choice of conveyance. That's why we're in the business of advocating on behalf of vulnerable users, and that's why we love our work.
