Heather Owen

Heather Owen graduated from DePaul University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Philosophy. In 2008 she received her Juris Doctor from Chicago Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.

Ms. Owen went on to pursue the field of Animal Law.  She represented a class of clients against a dog food company and manufacturer, and she also advocated on behalf of individual clients and their pets in various disputes.

In 2010 Heather joined the Law Offices of Jim Freeman as an attorney. She has since represented victims of negligence in a variety of personal injury cases. Heather enjoys the opportunity to help a class of individuals that she feels deserves representation, and she has quickly proven herself to be a valuable asset to the firm.

Ms. Owen has been an active cyclist for a variety of years, and has commuted via bicycle since she began law school in 2005. Heather prefers her fixed gear for commuting, but also enjoys taking her cross and road bikes out in her free time. When she is not cycling Heather sits on the Board of Directors of a local dog rescue and spends time exploring the city with her dogs.
