The ordinance would also increase fines for people who park in bike lanes or double-park in a marked shared lane. Chicago Ordinance Could Help CyclistsThe Chicago Tribune has reported that Mayor Daley introduced an ordinance yesterday that would fine motorists who turn left or right in front of someone on a bicycle, violate the three-foot passing law or open a vehicle door into the path of a cyclist. Snow RemovalIt's the time of year when snow removal is an issue for everyone. It is important to remove snow from sidewalks. Clear sidewalks benefit everyone, and many people such as the elderly or those with disabilities can find it difficult if not impossible to negotiate a snow-filled sidewalk.
